6 & 7 Months

The last few months have kind of blurred together with all the new things Caysen has learned. He is growing up so much and developing his little personality. He surprises us daily. Here are some things he does/loves these past 2 months.
-professional sitter
-professional waver (whenever we are trying to get him to do anything else he just waves. He even waves both hands to dance)
-professional crawler (im adjusting to having a mobile baby)
-pulls himself up on everything: couches, tables, peoples legs. (He isn't a skilled "faller" yet so I'm pretty sure he's going to have a perma-bruise on his forehead for awhile.)
-Loves grass, bark, dirt, rocks. He likes these things so much that when I am exercising in the garage and he's on the floor playing he will crawl to the cracks in the floor and pick out all the dirt and sticks.
-Cayse also loves swimming and swinging ( 2 things we are going to miss once winter comes) I'm dreading the winter because every time he gets fussy we just head outside and he's a new person. I don't think he's going to love outside as much when there's snow everywhere.
-When we are outside he's started to notice the birds flying in the sky. If it's not too bright we'll lay on our backs and watch the birds fly over us.
-He still loves himself in the mirror and has started trying to eat/kiss himself in the mirror
-He says mamama and dadadad and hi

I'm sure there are more things he does, but these are the ones I can think of now. Our little baby is starting to not be so little baby anymore!

5 Months!

I know my blog posts have probably been pretty boring just updating about Caysen's decelopments at each age, but I figure its better then nothing at all. I've got to work on documenting the little things in between.
At 5 months Caysen:
Eats some baby food along with rice cereal
Says "mmmmmmm" whenever he's eating something
Tries to grab whatever you are eating and gets mad when you don't share
Still nurses
Sits up for short periods of time, then face plants (we're working on it)
Laughs multiple times a day
Still loves looking in the mirror
Can wiggle out of his bouncer
Cries when you take something away from him
Wears 6-9 and 9 month clothes
Loves looking at his hands and watching them move
Always rolls to his back when layed on his belly
Got his first haircut
Whenever there's a loud noise he'll look at how your face reacts and usually respond the same way.
Loves playing "lap games" (being bounced around on your legs)
Loves being outside and playing in the water
Loves to "jump" and thankfully a friend gave a a johnny jumper so that our arms could have a break!

4 months!

At 4 months Caysen...
-Has rice cereal
-Tries to crawl by only using his legs
-Squeals in a high pitch girly scream
-Wears 6 months and 6-9 month clothes
-Sucks on everything
-A lot better hand eye coordination
-Laughs atleast once a day
- Thinks its so funny when you say "dadadadadadad"
-Makes facial expressions about things he's interested in

CA trip with Mom

Caysen and I took a trip to northern CA to visit my family. It was so fun to see them show off all Caysens little tricks ;) While we were there it was spring break for my sisters so it was fun to be able to spend some time with them. We got to celebrate Heidi's 17th birthday. She had knee surgery and was laid up the whole time, but that didnt matter because one of Caysen's favorite things to do was to lay on the ground with someone smiling at him. We also got to see Rachel play in a soccer game and watch General Conference. It was great to hear the words of the prophets. It was also great to be home for my mom's cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate and my dads BBQ tri tip :) My dad also got a swing for the play set and Caysen LOVED it!

3 Months!

At 3 Months Caysen...
-Started laughing
-Sits in his bumbo
-Loves being outside
-Went on a road trip to CA
- Started reaching towards things with a purpose
-Pulls hair
- the quote from the snickers commercial "you're not you when you're hungry" totally fits him (just like his daddy :)
- Has babbling conversations with you
-loves to stand on your lap while you hold his hands
- Loves to be cuddled
-Smiles a lot more
-Wears 3-6 or 6 month clothes
-Still only wants a pacifier when falling asleep
-Still hates being swaddled
-Loves to look in the mirror
-When hes barefoot be matches up the soles of his feet and presses them together
-Entertains himself by sucking on his hands
-puts EVERYTHING in his mouth

2 Months!

At 2 months old Caysen...
- In the 80th percentile for height and 90th percentile for weight
- Loves looking at zebra print things
-Goes to (survives) 3 hours of church
-loves to snuggle
-loves his baths
-usually falls asleep in the car
-love sucking on his fists
-rolls from belly to back
-pooped in the tub for dad haha!

Some fun and some not so fun!

I typed this a few weeks ago but am forgot to publish it!!! Im trying to get back on top of things so that I can keep a better record of our little family's life :)

I know I know Im behind! That whole having a newborn thing has got me behind on blogging. It is so funny that it has only been 2 months since he was born, but it feels like I have a years worth of stuff to blog about. First, I'm going to recap Caysen's first month of life. It was filled with some fun times and some not so fun times, but it was definitely FILLED for a newborn.
Week 1:
- we came home from the hospital
- had his first Dr. appt (4 days after birth he had laready regained his birth weight plus 6oz)
- he was a yellow baby: high billirubin levels so he had to lay (get strapped in and not be out of it unless he was eating or bathing) in a phototherepy bed for 3 days and get his heel pricked and blood squirted out of it 5 times to test his levels. (this goes under the not so fun)
- spent LOTS of time with grammy and dad so that mom could catch up on some much needed rest
- Grammy stayed with us and was a HUGE lifesaver and helper a.k.a. calm down the new mom about every little thing I freaked out about haha

Week 2: Christmas!!
- we flew to California :) - some of you may have judged our decision to do that with a baby barely 2 weeks old, but it was the best thing I coulda done for myself. I didnt have any postpartum depression or baby blues. I had to get over the minor things I was freaking out about because we were packing and not at home and there were a million people (ok only 8) among my family that wanted to hold and love Caysen so I could get rest and heal up from all the post partum complications I experienced.

Weeks 3 & 4: We just tried to adjust and figure out what our new normal was having this new precious member of our family.
